I once bought a used car which had a bike lock wrapped around the steering wheel in such a way that you couldn't remove it without the combination. I would methodically go through the numbers whenever I had some time, such as at red lights, or when I gave one of my carless housemates a ride to do some errands, and eventually I hit upon the combination. Then I had a useable bike lock.

I really love this! This is certainly one of the better parts of Facebook it seems. I quit FB back in 2015 but got a new account in 2019 for using groups only. I have less than 100 “friends” and it works pretty well. I’ve even contemplated ditching Instagram and using FB for the quieter aspect of it.

This is a lovely sentiment.

I loved this. Nobody will ever make a mega youtube video about my outdoor adventures but they're still (mostly) good enough for me, and that's great.

Great read. You should check out this subreddit where everyone writes about a fictional dull man named Norman, it's great. I'd say the people adding to Norman's lore would fit in well in the Dull Men's Club!

I'm seeing the Dull Men's Club in my Facebook algorithm, too. 69, 10 1/2 shoe, really wish I could run the trails some more. I can still walk! I like their pictures, too.

Loved this so much and I could definitely relate because my adventures are dull compared to yours and others that I follow. My adventures use to be big but as age crept up and injuries added up I had to adjust my expectations . . . for now. Once I have a new knee I will be changing those expectations. So, with titanium in my hip and knee I hope to be able to get back to hiking my favorite small mountains in CO and ride my Catrike many many miles.

My best to you always and forever Jill.

I like seeing tech being used and shaped into something good, the world is not lost. I added you last paragraph to my quote note pad! Insight can be found in dullness! Lol

I really loved this read. I like predictability and am more risk-averse than people sometimes assume about me.

I'm starting to lean into my dullness as I barrel toward 'old age'. This past year's challenges with afib and bone spurs are sunsetting my endurance challenges, so my fitness is nowhere near what it used to be. So I'm limited to walking the dogs, some easy cycling on the trainer and maybe an easy paddle. For some other reason, I bought a bird feeder to hang in my office window. I'm starting to name the birds that show up. I have a mated pair of Cardinals now named Mr. & Mr. Cardi B. I've declared that the Cardinal patriarchy is dead, and female cardinals rule. Yesterday my wife and I wandered around a street fair celebrating the Shad fish. And the Dull Men's Club is a wonderful safe space.
